17, 18/9/2013 Quebrada de Las conchas to Cafayate
D27, T1.25/2, Av19, Max57, Tot19235, 9870
Cool day with strong afternoon winds
The same old story is played out when reaching a town, time to relax, do little, skype and update my blog.
Some washing was done.
Cafayate is a large tourist town. Most appeared to be Argentinos.
We headed to the far side of town to a non descript restaurant, meals were about two dollars.
The days are very warm, though the afternoon wind really chills things down.
It great in the lady’s backyard, She is charging us $20 pesos for the night with hot water.
This is major wine growing area with lots of reds available. A bottle was enjoyed last night.
I need to stay here an extra day to visit a dentist.
The guys have headed of down Ruta 40. They are taking some secondary roads on the way. It was a fun couple of days riding together They have their own agenda likewise myself.
I am finding Argentina cheaper than Chile at this time, especially food and accommodation.
From here south tiendas are common so carrying extra food is not necessary.
I often wonder why water is so damn heavy. The other day I filled my 6 litre bladder, you can really notice the difference when climbing hills. Though this amount suffices perfectly for a night, when cooking pasta.
