It was so nice to relax in a town like this. My motel was right in the middle of town at the foot of the park. All amenities within 20m of the motel door.
Most importantly, a vendor was selling cut mango and pineapple. At 50c a serve my custom was frequent for the day.
A haircut was had, the young girl who owned the salon did a great job and so fussy. She took so long she could have easily count the hairs on my head.
The town is named after the Yarumos tree, Cecropia peltata. It has distinctive white upper surface leaves.
The day was spent relaxing, walking about and sleeping. Eating fruit filled in much time also.
My stomach was a bit upset and the toilet proved a popular visiting place during the day.
Figuring that drinking unfiltered water yesterday may have been the problem, some Sechnidazol tablets were taken. Harold my Nica friend told me that he takes them every 3mths for parasites. Feeling that giardia was the culprit, these tablets have the ability to control it.
The temperature up here is very cold by coastal standards. In the motel there are no fans so drying clothes is not an option.
The town folk here are ever so friendly, once again most people think I’m Italian, cant think why.
A lot of people come up here in the weekends from Medellin, as do cyclists training. They are good roads and have an excellent mix of hills and flats.
There is one professional cyclist from here living in Europe, so someone told me.

The rural views afforded from here coupled with the town and its inhabitants in the foreground were truly awe inspiring.
