6-7/5/2012 Santa Veronica
These two days have been ones of ease. Resting, reading, studying, listening to music and chatting, kind of sums up the time.
Getting out of the nest early on Monday, a planned beach walk was commenced after coffee and a couple of oranges.
Walking to the beach and heading west saw about 6 or 7 kilometres covered with a swim along the way.
It was a very relaxing way to fill in a few hours, with so much floatsam on the beach and new vistas it was always interesting. The water was almost tepid, with little surf it was a dip of much laziness and lounging
The coast is more or less undeveloped, the water was quite clear away from housing, and certain parts were pretty much free of plastic.Walking to Punta Gangrejo,( crab) a track was taken through a resort to the highway.
No buses fronted, so walking all the way back to Santa Veronica saw me fairly hungry to say the least.
A few fried items were devoured at the first shop to sort the hunger pangs out.
Some washing was done.
Then catching a bus to the small rural town of Juan de Acosta, inland from the main road.
Hoping to get the net was achieved, however it was a modem only arrangement and very slow.
It is raining as a result of lightening and thunder every day now, it makes the need to be lucky, not to get drenched. The storms brew up so quick. Humidity is in the 90’s and it is sticky, rain brings relief.
The most convenient place to use the net here is MacDonalds, a word of warning if you intend on using their facilities for a long period of time for the net. Make sure you bring a jumper. a friend told me they purposely keep the AC very low so people don't hang around to long. It gets very chilly soon after you have finished your "happy meal".
